Executive Forum
The Executive Forum brings together corporate and community leaders focused on the common goal of embracing diversity. Meetings include training, brainstorming and sharing best practices. The forum serves as a valuable resource for businesses and organizations and provides participants with a unique opportunity for involvement with other professionals who are committed to producing tangible results in their companies. This forum also enables participants to expand their thinking by exchanging ideas, networking and learning from others outside the boundaries of their own place of work. This executive networking event is designed around face-to-face information sharing and rotating discussions with fellow senior business leaders. Quarterly Forum - Wednesday, June 9, 2010; 8:00-10:00am Topic: Are our Leaders ready for GenNext’s impact on diversity, inclusion and our society? Host: Kahala Corporation: 9311 E. Via de Ventura, Scottsdale, AZ 85258 Continental Breakfast provided This Forum will stimulate thought-provoking discussion with academic and business leaders about our multigenerational workforce and its unique impact on team dynamics, communication and productivity within our organizations. What paradigms are the NextGen (those currently in college) bringing into our future workplaces and what discussions are they having about diversity, culture and inclusion? Myra Ferell Womochil, Professor at Northern Arizona University will join us and share her thoughts about our current and future workforce, and the Theory of Intersectionality, the intersection of our personal dimensions. PROFILE: Myra. Ferell-Womochil is a part-time professor at Northern Arizona University in the Women's and Gender Studies and Sociology Departments. Her class curriculum is focused on the intersectional relationships between large identities, for example race, class, and gender. She also teaches feminist theory, gender violence and grass roots activism. While teaching is her passion, Myra works full-time as the legal advocate at Northland Family Help Center (NFHC), where she assists women in Coconino County fleeing domestic violence and helps them navigate through the judicial system. She is focused on both intervention and prevention in the sexual and domestic violence community. Myra co-chairs the Coconino County Coordinated Response Team to Domestic Violence (CCRT) and is a member of the Coconino County Fatality Review Board. In addition, she is the faculty advisor for the MARS Project (Men Against Rape and Sexism) and Triota Women’s Honor Society. She earned her Master’s degree in Applied Sociology from Northern Arizona University with an emphasis in gender violence and activism.
